Plumbing marketing for calls that cannot wait
Plumbing marketing runs on a clock. Somebody standing in an inch of water is not comparing three companies, and if nobody picks up they are already dialing the next number. Everything below is what we have written for plumbing shops.
01What an emergency search actually rewards
The search is over before your voicemail finishes playing. That one fact decides what the website is for.
It is not a brochure anybody reads end to end. It is a short credibility check. The town they are in, hours that are current, a number that connects to a person, reviews with replies underneath them. A homeowner scanning three results is looking for a reason to eliminate two, and an unanswered one-star review is the easiest reason there is.
Then there is the second call, the one that comes while you are under a sink with both hands full. That call is worth the same as the first one and it is the one that gets lost. The pages below are ordered by where the money usually leaks out: found, answered, trusted, and only then spent.

Catching the call
- What missed-call text-back is A call that rings out gets a text back with your name on it, under a minute later.
- Websites that book jobs The pages and forms that turn a visit into an address on your schedule.
- Traffic but no calls They read the whole page and dialed somebody else. Usually fixable.
Being the one they trust
- Getting more Google reviews Asking everybody, replying to everybody, screening nobody.
- Spotting fake Google listings Listings on addresses nobody works out of, sitting in your service area.
- Why you are losing jobs you quoted The quote you were sure about, gone to somebody who answered faster.
Before you spend anything
03Three things to do this week, free
If your Google profile is not verified, nothing else you do to it counts. Google's verification page is where that starts, and it is the single highest-value hour on this list.
Fix a Leak Week runs every March. EPA publishes homeowner material for it that you can hand out, post, or build a spring email around, and it costs nothing. Most shops in your area will not have thought of it.
On the site itself, LocalBusiness structured data is how you state your hours and service area in a form a search engine can read instead of guess at. If you are paying somebody for a website right now, ask them whether it is there.
04What plumbing owners ask
How do I get more plumbing leads?
Answer the phone before you go looking for volume. A burst pipe is a shopping trip that ends at whoever picks up, so the calls already hitting your line and going to voicemail are cheaper to win back than new ones are to buy. An automatic text on every missed call is the first fix, and it goes out in under a minute while you are still under the sink.
Then the map. Profile claimed, drain cleaning and water heaters and repipes listed separately instead of under Plumbing Services, reviews arriving every week rather than in bursts. Buying leads is the last lever on that list, not the first.
How much do plumbing leads cost?
It depends who you buy from and how many other plumbers they sold the same lead to. A marketplace lead is sold as a race, you pay per lead whether or not anybody books, and the price climbs in the exact season you need it most.
The cheaper number is what a lead already costs you for nothing: the call that came in while you were on a job. The missed-call calculator puts a dollar figure on that in about a minute.
How do I advertise my plumbing business?
Truck, profile, reviews, and not one of the three is an ad. Every house on the street you are working already sees the van, which is free, and plenty of shops waste it with no wrap and no number on the back.
The Google profile is what a homeowner types into at eleven at night. Reviews are the only thing on that screen a stranger genuinely believes. Paid ads come after, because an ad amplifies whatever is already there, including a page nobody calls from.
How do I write a plumbing estimate?
Scope, price, and what happens next. One page, sent the same day. Name the fixture, the access problem and the part, because a line item somebody understands is a line item they do not argue with, and put a date on the quote so it is not open forever.
Send it from the driveway rather than at the kitchen table at ten. The estimate that lands first wins more often than the cheaper one that lands two days later.
How do I get more work as a plumber?
From the customers you already have. A water heater you put in four years ago is due, and half the people in your phone do not know you do repipes because nobody ever told them. One text to past customers costs nothing and it books work this week.
Referrals stack on top of that, and they come from people who can still remember your company name, which makes it a follow-up problem rather than a marketing problem.
